Skagerak Energi, a major producer of renewable energy in Norway, and Jedlix, the European leader in Vehicle Grid Integration solutions, partner to offer Norwegian electric vehicle drivers and enterprise customers smart charging services for Electric Vehicles and secure their sustainable insertion into the Norwegian grid.
With a market share of above 50 % in new vehicle sales, Norway is the n°1 market in Europe in terms of EV adoption. This urges the need for a driver centric solution that brings together the e-mobility and energy industries.
Thanks to the partnership EV drivers in Norway have the opportunity to lower their charging costs at home and support the integration of electric vehicles on the grid. The smart charging app of Jedlix is available in the app stores (for iOS and Android) and compatible with a wide range of electric vehicles and works independently from the energy supplier. In a later stage, other branding opportunities are applied for the smart charging service to enable platform partners.
The partners also plan to support business customers to address the needs of business partners that have electrified their company fleet.
Parties believe that the mass adoption of EVs presents a huge opportunity to deliver grid balancing services in return for a remuneration that will create the basis of future value propositions and energy services for the benefit of EV and fleet owners. With the engagement of the EV drivers, Skagerak Energi and Jedlix will complete the value chain to make this happen and contribute actively to the Nordic Balancing Model of tomorrow for a netZero50 economy.
Serge Subiron, Jedlix CEO adds : “we are proud to work with Skagerak Energi and its subsidiaries to enable a new generation of smart energy services in Norway in a first step and the entire Nordics region next. I believe this is a great example of what a visionary energy group and an e-mobility innovator can accomplish for more than 200,000 EV drivers in Norway, saving costs and generating new revenue opportunities for consumers and the energy system alike, while absorbing the surplus of renewable energy in the entire Scandinavian region with electric vehicles.”
Oystein K. Saether, Acting Director Strategy and Business Development, in Skagerak Energi: “Through the close cooperation between Jedlix and Skagerak Energi our aim is to position ourselves towards an even greener and sustainable future in the mobility and transportation sector. The solution will be open and available for all stakeholders in the transition from fossil fueled transportation. The partnership between Jedlix and Skagerak Energi enables a tailor made solution for the Norwegian market”.
“This project is one part of Skagerak Energi’s ambitious goals to be an enabler for the transition to a renewable energy future by increasing the attractiveness of choosing electric driven cars. By access to flexibility in the electric grid systems will this project represent an effective alternative to traditional grid investments. The Jedlix platform has been tested and proven in several projects and secures an effective implementation into the Norwegian market”, Saether says.
